Overall follows a two-year deal previously held by Falchuk at the studio
Pact calls for Falchuk to develop new projects at the studio. He will also continue to showrun and exec produce the pair of Ryan Murphy series under the 20th TV deal. (Both Fox’s “Glee” and FX’s “AHS” hail from 20th Century Fox TV, and were co-created by Falchuk and Murphy.)
“Brad is an enormously talented writer, producer and director, and we couldn’t be happier that he’ll continue to work exclusively at this studio for years to come,” said Dana Walden, CEO and chairman of the studio. “To have co-created two of the biggest hits of the decade with Ryan Murphy in ‘Glee’ and ‘American Horror Story’ is a pretty remarkable achievement, and it speaks to his originality and gifts as a storyteller.”
Falchuk’s history with Murphy spans over ten years, and includes Falchuk’s tenure as a scribe on FX series “Nip/Tuck.” After co-creating “Glee,” Falchuk inked a pricey two-year development deal with 20th TV in 2009.
“Glee” returned for its fifth season on Fox last month, and “AHS: Coven” is set to bow on FX tonight.
Falchuk is repped by WME and Gendler & Kelly, APC.
