GLAAD Honors Ryan Murphy Shows

'New Normal,' 'American Horror Story' Recognized

Ryan Murphy programs won two honors at the Los Angeles edition of the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday at the JW Marriott.

NBC’s “The New Normal” and FX’s “American Horror Story: Asylum,” each with Murphy auspices, triumphed in the comedy and movie-miniseries categories.

Other honors included “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” for film in wide release, NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” for daily drama, the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Me What to Do” episode of Fox’s “Raising Hope” for individual TV episode and “At Home with Neil Patrick Harris, His Fiance David Burtka & Their Twins” from OWN’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter” for talkshow episode.

As previously announced, President Bill Clinton received the Advocate for Change Award, while Steve Warren received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.

An earlier set of GLAAD Media Awards were presented March 16 in New York, and the final group will be bestowed May 11 in San Francisco.
