FX Promotes Research Exec Piepenkotter

Will oversee research for FX, FXM and FXX

FX Networks has promoted Julie Piepenkotter to the position of exec veep of research, putting her in charge of program and consumer research for the company’s current and upcoming networks.

Piepenkotter will oversee research for FX, FXM and FXX. The latter launches September 2.

“We are delighted to elevate Julie as we expand to three FX networks,” FX Networks prexy/g.m. John Landgraf said. “At the risk of implying that ‘our head of research is smarter than your head of research,’ I can say without hesitation that Ms. Piepenkotter is one of the most curious, wittiest and best read people I have ever met.  We rely on her leadership and keen insight.”

Piepenkotter joined FX as senior research veep in 2009, overseeing research at FX and Fox Movie Channel while also working with Fox National Cable Networks on special research projects. Previously, she spent 20 years with Disney, most recently as senior research veep in charge of program research for ABC Family, SOAPnet and consumer insights across the Disney-ABC television portfolio.
