Hungarian net M2 buys 'Lulu Vroumette'

ANNECY — France Televisions Distribution, the sales arm of France Televisions — one of Europe’s leading animation co-producers and broadcasters — has closed a raft of deals across its slate of toon skeins.

Deals were unveiled at Annecy Animation Intl. Film Festival, which kicked off on Monday.

The first season of “The Octonauts” has sold to Disney Junior in South Korea;
the second and third series of the show sold to Ireland’s RTE2 and RTE2 Junior.

“The Octonauts” will soon be broadcast on the English-language Canadian channel Treehouse TV, the sister channel of YTV.

“Peter Rabbit” was also acquired by Ireland’s RTE2 and RTE2 Junior, and Slovenia’s SLO1 and SLO2.

Both “Peter Rabbit” and “The Octonauts” are produced by Silvergate.

Inspired by Beatrix Potter’s classic children novel, the preschool toon show turns on the adventures of Peter Rabbit and his friends.

“The Octonauts” centers on a team of quirky and brave heroes equipped with a fleet of aquatic vehicles, who rescue sea creatures and explore underwater worlds.

Meanwhile, Hungarian net M2 has nabbed the first two orders of “Lulu Vroumette,” a pre-school skein produced by Mondo TV following a tortoise and her friends as they explore the secrets of nature.
