Fox Orders Gameshow With Andy Richter to Host

Project could prove to be a profitable format for Endemol overseas

Fox has ordered a pilot for “Step Up,” a gameshow from Endemol USA with Andy Richter set to host.

In “Step Up,” contestants win money by stepping on squares that have hidden dollar amounts underneath while avoiding pitfalls that could send them home empty-handed. Pilot is currently in production.

“In addition to our diverse slate of programming, Endemol USA has put a significant amount of effort into developing the next hit game show,” said David Goldberg, topper of Endemol North America. “This is the second primetime game show we will produce this year. ‘Step Up’ is everything you hope for in a game show. It’s a clean and straight forward premise, filled with high stakes and drama, played on a spectacular stage.”

Endemol sees the fresh format as being potentially profitable in international TV markets.

Endemol USA’s slate of shows includes “Big Brother,” “Steve Harvey” and “Wipeout.”
