Dollenmayer will oversee all marketing and promotion for the WGN America cabler and work closely on marketing matters for Tribune’s 23 local stations and its digital channels Antenna TV and This TV. He’ll report to WGN America prexy Cherniss and local stations chief Larry Wert.
“As WGN America begins its push into scripted programming with next year’s debut of ‘Salem’, we’ve found the perfect mix of creative marketing talent and experience in Brian,” said Cherniss. “He’s been associated with some of the most successful shows on television and understands how to mount an effective promotional campaign that creates buzz and delivers audience from Day One.”
Liguori, former head of Fox and FX, was recruited to lead the post-bankruptcy Tribune Co. earlier this year. Cherniss, another Fox and FX alum, signed on to run Tribune’s general entertainment cabler in March.
Dollenmayer spent 19 years with Fox, most recently as exec VP on-air promotions and marketing operations.
