Golf Channel will be launching the third season of “Feherty” on Feb. 25.The irreverent golf announcer brings his own brand of humor to the NBC-owned net, with the series having launched last year to the highest ratings for any original program in Golf Channel history. Interviewing personalities as eclectic as President Bill Clinton to actors Don Cheadle to basketball great Bill Russell, Feherty — who is also known for his Masters coverage on CBS — helps elevate golf’s status for those who are not regular players or TV viewers. “David is a departure from the typical interviewer. His ability to elicit refreshing and revealing conversations from a wide spectrum of guests across sports, politics and entertainment is the hallmark of this series,” said Golf Channel President Mike McCarley. Also returning that day is the fifth season of “The Haney Project,” in which Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps plays courses around the world New series “In Play With Jimmy Roberts” will premiere March 12. Show will feature Roberts — a longtime golf announcer for ESPN and NBC — spinning golf tales.
