Emmys: Tidbits from Inside the Nokia

Emmys: Tidbits from Inside the Nokia

The Emmycast always plays a little differently when you’re inside the theater rather than watching on the screen.

Among the more interesting moments:

** Exec producer Ken Ehrlich warned winners about giving long speeches by showing a clip of the Red Wedding scene from “Game of Thrones.”

** Jack Klugman got huge applause during the “In Memoriam” segment. There was much hubbub about him not being included in the special tribute segs.

** There was obvious surprise in the room when two underdogs triumphed in tough categories: Jeff Daniels (pictured) for lead drama actor for “The Newsroom” and Bobby Cannavale for supporting drama actor for “Boardwalk Empire.”

** The “Modern Family” cast is treated like royalty. Everybody wants a photo with TV’s favorite family.
