The Peacock has signed a one-year talent holding deal with the English comedian, who recently appeared on NBC’s “Hannibal” as Dr. Abel Gideon. As a part of the pact, Izzard will receive an exec producer credit on a series if he is cast as the lead.
Izzard’s U.S. TV credits include “The Good Wife” and “United States of Tara,” but the actor-scribe has yet to secure a breakout television role Stateside. Known for cross-dressing, Izzard rose to fame in the late ’90s with stand-up spesh “Dressed to Kill,” which earned him a Primetime Emmy.
He is repped by APA and Conway van Gelder.
