New station pacts take CBS TV Distribution strip through 15th season
“Dr. Phil’s” tenure in daytime has been extended as CBS has renewed the talkshow through the 2016-17 season on stations covering a majority of TV households.This three-year extension takes “Dr. Phil” through its 15th season. CBS said Thursday it has wrapped deals with stations covering 77% of U.S. TV households. “To have a talk show on the air for 15 years is a huge accomplishment,” said Joe DiSalvo, prexy of sales at CBS TV Distribution, which distributes the syndicated yakker. At present, “Dr. Phil” is averaging 4.2 million viewers a week and is the No. 1 yakker in daytime. “Dr. Phil” was created by Harpo Prods. and is produced by Peteski Prods. in association with CBS TV Distribution. Dr. Phil McGraw and Carla Pennington serve as exec producers.
