“Dr. Phil’s” tenure in daytime has been extended as CBS has renewed the talkshow through the 2016-17 season on stations covering a majority of TV households.
This three-year extension takes “Dr. Phil” through its 15th season. CBS said Thursday it has wrapped deals with stations covering 77% of U.S. TV households.
“To have a talk show on the air for 15 years is a huge accomplishment,” said Joe DiSalvo, prexy of sales at CBS TV Distribution, which distributes the syndicated yakker.
At present, “Dr. Phil” is averaging 4.2 million viewers a week and is the No. 1 yakker in daytime.
