Script from Ellickson centers on middle school teacher

NBC and Greg Daniels are busier than ever in their post-”Office” days. The Peacock has ordered a second pilot from Daniels, this one from writer Owen Ellickson.

Untitled singlecam laffer from Universal TV centers around a talented musician who adjusts to his new life as a middle school music teacher, where he maneuvers precocious kids, teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.

Pilot will star “The Office” vet Craig Robinson, who also produces. Daniels, Ellickson, Tracy Katsky, Howard Klein and Mark Schulman are on board as exec producers.

Daniels’ Deedle-Dee Prods. is one of the busiest shingles this pilot season. He has another show at NBC, from writer Robert Padnick, about twentysomethings who date as told through a group of friends, as well as a project at ABC with Brian Baumgartner.

At Fox, Deedle-Dee and U TV have a comedy penned by Tom Gormican and Richie Keen.
