FremantleMedia North America is strengthening its scripted development department with the additions of Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk. Cegielski takes on the newly-created position of exec vice prez of scripted programming and development, and Berk senior veep of scripted programming and development.
Berk will report to Cegielski, and Cegielski to FMNA CEO Thom Beers.
“Scripted programming is a huge priority for us and both Craig and Stefanie bring passion, great relationships and years of experience with them to FremantleMedia,” said Beers.
Cegielski joins FMNA from Open Circle Entertainment, which he founded with partner Susan Gross. He has also logged years at Lionsgate International TV, where he served as exec veep of programming and sales, along with stints at CBS/King World and Paramount.
Berk previously served as head of development at Playtone, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s production company. During her years at Playtone, Berk worked on projects including “American Idiot the Musical,” “Where the Wild Things Are,” “Game Change” and “Mamma Mia.”
