CMT has added seven new series to its unscripted slate for 2014, the network announced today. Flood of greenlights marks the most series the network has ever had in production at one time.
“These new shows represent the most aggressive original programming CMT has ever offered,” said Jayson Dinsmore, exec veep of programming and development. “We’re purposefully broadening our originals to appeal to a wider audience through family-based comedies, outrageous humor, action-packed competition and unexpected dramas. We’re out to prove that CMT has some serious attitude with a distinct point of view, and there’s no better way to demonstrate this than with our surprising new series from the producers of ‘Jersey Shore,’ ‘Party Down South’ in January.”
CMT has also renewed “Dog and Beth” and “Guntucky” for new seasons, slating them for spring 2014.
