After nabbing Rachel Nichols from ESPN last week, Jeff Zucker has made another talent acquisition for CNN, bringing Chris Cuomo over to the cable news net from ABC News.
Cuomo will have a major role in a new CNN morning show in addition to anchoring and reporting on events across the cabler.
“Chris is an accomplished anchor who is already an established name in morning television, as well as a widely respected investigative journalist,” said Zucker. “What I love about Chris is that he is passionate about every story he tells, never forgets about the viewer, and represents the type of journalism that makes CNN great.”
Cuomo most recently co-anchored ABC’s “20/20” and served as chief law and justice correspondent for ABC News. From 2006 to 2009, he was “Good Morning America’s” news anchor.
In December, ABC News’ Jake Tapper joined CNN, stepping into the role of anchor and chief Washington correspondent.
