'When the Balls Drop' will be based on autobiography

Former “Everybody Loves Raymond” thesp Brad Garrett and Twentieth Century Fox Television have closed a deal for a pilot script with significant penalty at ABC, based on Garrett’s forthcoming autobiography “When the Balls Drop.”

Garrett will star in the pilot. In addition, he has signed a talent holding deal with Twentieth TV, positioning the studio to cast Garrett in an alternate pilot should “Balls” fail to score.

Garrett and Chuck Tatham will write the comedy pilot, which focuses on the life of a divorced family man juggling home and work in middle age. The pair will exec produce with Television 360’s Eryn Brown and Meghan Lyvers.

Garrett will soon appear in an upcoming episode of CBS’ “The Crazy Ones.”
