Big Brother Ratings Win

Dutch company reportedly invested $28.5 million in Reshet's stock, loan

LONDON — “Big Brother” producer Endemol has bought a stake in Israeli broadcaster Reshet, according to local press reports.

Netherlands-based Endemol has inked a deal to invest 100 million shekels ($28.5 million) in Reshet, which is one of the franchisees that airs Channel 2. Part of the coin will be used to purchase Reshet stock and part will be a loan.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Israel has become a hot-bed for the creation of reality show formats. In April, Endemol took a majority stake in Israel’s Kuperman Prods., which it relaunched as Endemol Israel.
