Bell Gets His ‘Turn’ AMC Pilot

Dice Awards took place Thursday

Jamie Bell has been cast on AMC’s drama pilot “Turn.”

Project, from Craig Silverstein and Barry Josephson and based on the book “Washington Spies” by Alexander Rose, takes place in 1778 and examines a close group of spies who help America win the Revolutionary War against England.

Bell will play a Long Island cabbage farmer who reluctantly becomes one of the spies. Others already cast include Meegan Warner and Daniel Henshall. Rupert Wyatt will direct.

A U.K. native, Bell received plenty of notice for his movie debut in 2000 pic “Billy Elliot.” He has appeared mostly in films throughout his career, including “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Defiance,” with little exposure on television.
