BBC America Greenlights Glen Morgan-Produced Series

Cabler orders eight hour-long episodes of thriller drama

BBC America said it greenlit a thriller series, “Intruders,” based on the Michael Marshall Smith novel. Glen Morgan, a producer and writer whose work dates back to “The X-Files” will write and executive produce. BBC America has ordered eight hour-long episodes of the series.

Exec produced by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner for BBC Worldwide Productions, the series is about a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others.  Series is set to begin production in early spring 2014 and will be distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide.

“Intruders” is part of the channel’s continuing commitment to drama including hit original series “Orphan Black,” and critically acclaimed series “Broadchurch.”
