Atlanta is getting into TV fest mode this week with help creatives behind “The Walking Dead,” “Bones” and Cinemax’s “Banshee.”The inaugural Atlanta Television Festival is an outgrowth of the Savannah Film Festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design. That fest, now in its 16th year, is designed to help students connect with industry pros. The three-day TV gathering, which opens Thursday, is following the same model and will be held at Savannah College’s Atlanta campus. The fest sked includes panels and workshops on everything from main title sequencing to pitching a show. Phylicia Rashad will be feted for her TV work following a screening of the Lifetime telepic “Steel Magnolias.” Also making the trek to the Peach State are “Bones” exec producer Stephen Nathan, FremantleMedia North America CEO Thom Beers and execs from Bravo and HGTV.
