Pair's Double Feature banner to develop scripted projects

Cabler AMC has inked a first-look pact for scripted TV development with Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg’s Double Feature Films.

The two-year pact was unveiled Tuesday by Joel Stillerman, AMC’s exec veep of original programming, production and digital content.

Sher and Shamberg are known for such feature films as “Contagion,” “Out of Sight” and “Erin Brockovich.” They were also exec producers on the Comedy Central series “Reno 911.”

“Stacey and Michael are outstanding producers who have made an incredible range of films; along with an iconic, out of the box, television series that is still talked about today,” Stillerman said. “What’s clear from looking at their body of work is that they are driven by great material, great ideas, and great talent; and they know how to put those things together.”
