Communications vet joins the umbrella company after long tenure at Cablevision

AMC Networks has tapped James Maiella as senior veep of corporate communications for the parent company that oversees cablers IFC, AMC, We TV and film distribution company IFC Films.

Maiella joins AMC Networks after logging over 10years as vice prez of media relations for Cablevision. Prior to his tenure at Cablevision, Maiella held positions at communications firm Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, and RCN Corp.

Maiella will report to Ellen Kroner, exec VP of communications and marketing. He will also work in tandem with fellow senior veep of corporate communications Georgia Juvelis.

“Jim brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new position,” Kroner said. “I’m confident that his strategic messaging expertise and solid media relationships will bring great value to AMC Networks and its brands.”
