The flock of “Duck Dynasty” fans grew to a record size Wednesday, as A&E’s reality series delivered all-time network highs with the show’s third-season premiere.
According to Nielsen, two half-hour episodes of “Duck Dynasty” in the 10 p.m. hour averaged 8.6 million viewers, including about 5 million adults 18-49 — more than double the show’s scores for its second-season bow.
In the 18-49 demo, “Duck Dynasty’s” 3.9 rating tied it with ABC’s “Modern Family” and Fox’s “American Idol” as Wednesday’s No. 1 program.
The previous high for an A&E series was its second-season finale in December (3.0 rating in 18-49, 6.45 million viewers overall).
