ABC has ordered a halfhour comedy from John Leguizamo based on his life in New York.
Laffer, from ABC Studios, will be toplined by Leguizamo and explore how he straddles the line between his Bronx, Latin roots and Upper Westside lifestyle with his wife and kids. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will exec produce through Mandeville along with Jeff Golenberg. Mandeville’s recent feature film releases include “The Fighter” and zom-rom-com “Warm Bodies,” which topped at the box office over the weekend. Shingle’s TV creds are scant, however, with USA’s “Monk” being its primary title.
