Binge viewing was the topic May 2 at Culver City’s Akasha restaurant, where the creators and actors of Wigs, YouTube’s number one channel for scripted drama, joined to celebrate its first anniversary.
“These are stories that are not layered by 25 levels of executives. There are not things exploding behind me. It’s purely real storytelling and acting,” said “Kendra” thesp Jason Isaacs.
“The channel was a relatively modest ambition, but I think we’ve grabbed everyone’s attention with these stories about women. Don’t be surprised if you see our shows in traditional media as well,” said Avnet, who went on to note that Wigs has tallied over 33 million combined views and 147,000 subscribers.
