Pacts signed in Spain, Hungary, Poland, the Philippines, Thailand
LONDON — The Sundance Channel has inked new distrib pacts for its television networks and VOD services in Spain, Hungary, Poland, the Philippines and Thailand.
In Poland, Sundance is to bow on cable provider Multimedia Polska as an HD and standard definition channel and VOD service. In Hungary, a subtitled channel will launch on Magyar Telecom via cable and IPTV services. In Spain, a dubbed version is set to launch through cable operator R.
The channel is also available in Spain via Movistar, Imagenio and Euskaltel; in Hungary via UPC; and in Poland through the n platform, Cyfrowy Polsat, Orange, UPC Poland, TOYA and other operators.
Other recent deals in Europe have seen the channel expand its carriage in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania and Turkey.
In the Philippines, it will be available for the first time in both standard and HD via cable provider Sky Philippines.
In Thailand, the company’s women’s lifestyle network WE tv will launch for the first time on new IPTV platform MeTV. The Sundance Channel is already available in Thailand on TrueVisions.
Recent expansion has also seen the Sundance Channel find new carriers in Korea and Taiwan.
Additionally, the Sundance Channel has acquired linear and on-demand premiere rights to five titles from the Sundance Film Festival, which it will preem in Europe and Asia in conjunction with its festival in Blighty, Sundance London, which runs April 25-28.
