Reality TV got a good working over Monday nights, thanks to BET Networks’ preem of two shows that parody the genre: “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “Second Generation Wayans.”
Guests at the SVA Theater screening and the 40/40 Club afterparty admitted to watching a lot of reality TV. “I like all the wives on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ because the women in my family are similar so I can relate to them,” said exec producer Stan Lathan. “Wayans” thesp Tatyana Ali picked Kandi Burruss of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” as her fave: “Because I identify with her. She’s self-made with her own sex-toy line and other businesses and she doesn’t let anyone on the show step on her.” Damien Dante Wayans fondly recalled bad boy David “Puck” Rainey from MTV’s “The Real World.” “He didn’t wash. He was dirty and nasty and annoyed people but he made me laugh.”Reality strikes back at BET
