Celebrities bonded with chefs from their favorite restaurants Sept. 28 while helping fight childhood cancer at the fourth edition of L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade, billed as a “decadent cookout” at the Culver Studios lot.

Passionate foodie Jimmy Kimmel, who has served as emcee of the event for the past few years, said he was first invited to the gourmet tasting by Chris Bianco from Phoenix’s Pizzeria Bianco, who brought his pizza oven on wheels to make pistachio-red onion pies. Hosted by L.A. chefs Suzanne Goin, David Lentz and Caroline Styne, restaurants from around the country offered tastings, including San Francisco’s Quince, Portland’s Beast and New York’s the Spotted Pig.

Kimmel made the rounds trying pizza and barbecue and schmoozing with the chefs from L.A.’s Animal Restaurant, while TV chef Giada de Laurentiis helped auction dinner parties cooked by top chefs, raising more than half a million dollars for the charity that was started by 4-year old cancer patient Alex Scott as an actual lemonade stand.

The kid cast of “Parenthood” got into the lemonade stand spirit, pouring fresh lemonade for the crowd of thirsty guests on the sun-drenched backlot. Also on hand were Neil Patrick Harris, Lena Dunham, Bailee Madison, Gillian Jacobs, Laura Dern, Camilla Belle and “Modern Family’s” Nolan Gould.
