Julian Lennon Returns with 'Everything Changes'

Those attracted to rock royalty showed up in droves June 14 at the Sunset Marquis’ Morrison Hotel gallery for the private launch party of Julian Lennon’s “Everything Changes,” his sixth studio album, released 15 years after his last LP. Among those in attendance, Steven Tyler, who appears on the album, and rock photographer Timothy White.

“I got sick of the business,” said Lennon about the long gap between recording efforts. “I put a lot of work into the previous album and did a lot of promotion for it and depended on a lot of people who didn’t put their all in and I always put my all in when I’m working.”

When reminded that Paul McCartney, who had his differences with Julian’s father after the Beatles broke up, appeared the previous week on “The Colbert Report” singing a very John Lennon song, “For the Benefit of Mr. Kite,” Julian responded, with a wink and a nod: “Paul’s all grown up now.”
