Live Nation in Talks to Acquire U2, Madonna Management Firms

Concert giant negotiating $30 mil pact for Principle Management and Maverick, according to New York Times

Live Nation Entertainment is poised to add more music biz firepower to its arsenal as it is in talks to acquire the management firms of Madonna and U2.

According to the New York Times, Live Nation is negotiating a deal valued at more than $30 million that would bring Principle Management, headed by longtime U2 manager Paul McGuinness, and Maverick, run by Madonna’s longtime partner Guy Oseary, under one roof.

If a deal is concluded, Oseary would take over day to day management of U2. McGuinness and Oseary are two of the most prominent manager/executive figures in the music biz.

Live Nation has been a touring and promotion partner for both U2 and Madonna in recent years.
