Henk Kivits, the chief exec of Euro legit producing giant Stage Entertainment Group, will ankle his post this summer to be replaced by current Stage international exec producer Peter O’Keeffe.Kivits has been CEO of Stage since 2007, and will exit at the end of his current contract after declining to extend it by two years. Kivits said in a statement he was ready to step back from the heavy demands of the gig. Brit O’Keeffe worked at Walt Disney Co. in Paris before signing on to Stage Entertainment in 2001. Following a two-year stint with Clear Channel, O’Keeffe rejoined Stage in 2007. During his tenure at the company his responsibilities have encompassed all Stage tuner productions in Spain and in the Netherlands. Working alongside Joop Van Den Ende, the Endemol co-founder who also founded Stage and serves as its chair and prexy, O’Keeffe steps up to his new role Aug. 1. He’ll head a team that also includes chief finance exec Siebe van Elsloo and ticketing and restructuring exec Stephanie Hosman, among others. Stage Entertainment has a number of transatlantic ties to the U.S. legit industry. The company works regularly with Disney Theatrical Prods. on major licensed stagings of Disney shows across Europe, and the company is also a major player in the “Rocky” musical, a success in Germany and much talked about for a Broadway engagement. Also the lead producer of the “Sister Act” tuner and currently on board the incoming musical “Big Fish,” Stage Entertainment has a Gotham office led by Bill Taylor.
