Queens Theater bows Robert Wuhl play

Actor-writer will co-direct satire 'Hit-Lit'

Queens Theater, the outer-borough Gotham company with unusually ambitious programming, will present the world preem of a play by Robert Wuhl, “Hit-Lit,” as its first 2013 production.

Wuhl, the thesp (“Bull Durham,” “Good Morning, Vietnam”) who created and starred in the HBO series “Arliss,” also will co-direct with Steven Wallace. A satire of the publishing industry, the storyline centers on an ambitious young editor on the prowl for the next big lit hit.

Cast includes Karis Danish, Adam Harrington, Greg Cody, Richard Hollis and Markita Prescott, starring in a production that runs March 7-17.

Among other shows to have bowed at the Queens venue are new tuner “Chix 6” and “The Jack Cole Project,” a dance-centric tribute to the titular choreographer in a world preem from Chet Walker, one of the co-creators of the Broadway revue “Fosse.”
