Actress will star in new play by Sharr White, 'The Snow Geese'

Mary-Louise Parker circles back to Broadway this fall, returning to Manhattan Theater Club for the Gotham nonprofit’s co-production of Sharr White’s “The Snow Geese.”

Parker will re-team with helmer Daniel Sullivan (“Glengarry Glen Ross,” “Rabbit Hole”), who directed the actress in the MTC production of “Proof,” which netted 2001 Tonys for both actress and director.

MTC partners with another Off Broadway org, MCC Theater, to preem “Snow Geese,” after the two companies collaborated earlier this season on White’s “The Other Place.” MTC presented the Laurie Metcalf topliner on Broadway earlier this season, following a prior Off Broadway staging backed by MCC.

Parker stars as a newly widowed woman, circa WWI, who gathers her family for the annual hunting party in upstate New York. The clan grapple with one son’s imminent deployment as well as the revelation of unexpected family debt.

Parker’s stage work also has included MTC’s Broadway production of “Reckless” as well as notable turns in “Prelude to a Kiss” and “How I Learned to Drive.” On the bigscreen, she’ll star in “Red 2” and “R.I.P.D.,” among other upcoming titles.

“Snow Geese” begins previews Oct. 1 ahead of an Oct. 24 opening at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theater on Broadway.
