Cirque du Soleil - Ka

Investigation into accident could take six months

The Clark County Coroner’s office says Cirque du Soleil aerialist Sarah Guyard-Guillot fell some 90 feet Saturday night — almost twice the distance reported initially — and died of blunt force trauma.

Guyard-Guillot fell during the climactic sequence of “Ka” at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Saturday night. It was Cirque du Soleil’s first-ever onstage fatality.

The Coroner’s office ruled the death an accident and said the┬áNevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is conducting an investigation that could take up to six months to complete.
