Zane Holtz has joined the cast of Derick Martini’s indie thriller “The Curse of Downers Grove” opposite Lucas Till, Bella Heathcote, Penelope Mitchell and Kevin Zegers.
Oren Segal, Jason Dubin and Chiara Trento are producing, with lensing set for spring. Martini, who directed “Hick,” is helming from a script he co-wrote with Bret Easton Ellis, adapted from 2001’s Michael Hornburg novel.
Story centers on a paranoid high school senior who’s worried about an apparent curse that takes the life of one student every year at the school.
Holtz will portray a meth-crazed sidekick to Zegers’ character. He recently played the lead in a pair of indies shot last year — Russell Friedenberg’s “Wind Walkers” and Danny Buday’s “Another Stateside” — and was in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”
Holtz is repped by Gersh, 3 Arts and Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder.
