XLrator has faith in ‘Apostles’

Faith-based standup movie to be released in spring

XLrator Media has picked up world rights to “Apostles of Comedy: Onwards and Upwards,” the standup pic starring a trio of Christian comics.

Co-produced and co-directed by Mitchell Galin and Lenny Sisselman, “Onwards and Upwards” follows Jeff Allen, Ron Pearson and Keith Alberstadt on their respective national tours. Faith-based film is a follow-up of sorts to Galin and Sisselman’s “Apostles of Comedy” (released on video in 2008), in which Allen and Pearson also appeared.

XLrator plans to release the film sometime in the spring, with exact details of the release still to be set.

“Apostles of Comedy: Onward and Upwards” joins an XLrator stable that includes “John Carpenter’s The Ward,” “Bunraku” and “Killing Bono,” as well as recent acquisition “American Mary,” to be released through XLrator’s Screamfest label.
