Wrekin Hill Nabs U.S. Rights to ‘Night Train to Lisbon’

Night Train To Lisbon Wrekin Hill

Thriller premiered at Berlin in February

Wrekin Hill Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to Bille August’s thriller “Night Train to Lisbon” from K5 International, three months after its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.

Wrekin Hill plans a U.S. release later this year. Cast includes Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Melanie Laurent, Martina Gedeck, August Deihl, Bruno Ganz, Lena Olin, Christopher Lee and Charlotte Rampling.

Studio Hamburg FilmProduktion and C-Films AG Zuerich produced in co-production with C-Films Deutschland GmbH, Cinemate Portugal and with Tele Muenchen Group.

Story follows a Swiss professor (Irons) who meets a mysterious young Portuguese woman in Berne.

The film has already been released in Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and in Germany, where its has topped the $5 million mark at the box office. K5 is handling all international sales.

Deal was negotiated by Chris Ball and Rene Cogan for Wrekin Hill with Carl Clifton at K5.
