Twentieth Century Fox is moving forward on another “Wolverine” film, with Hugh Jackman set to reprise the title role and director James Mangold in talks to direct once again.

Mangold is in negotiations to write the treatment for the film with Lauren Shuler Donner producing. Mangold directed this year’s “The Wolverine,” which became the second-highest grossing movie in the “X-Men” franchise on the back of a strong performance overseas.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and virtually every member of the “X-Men” universe, will next be seen in summer 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Mangold is repped by WME and Management 360.

Deadline Hollywood was first to report the news.

The Wolverine was a huge improvement over Origins. It’s good to see Fox actually cares about the X-Men franchise enough to correct their mistakes.

  3. RoboDouche says:

Origins was terrible, Wolverine was ok but not great. Hopefully it only gets better from here.
