Gomez, Huffman, Crudup, Yelchin starring

Mars Films has acquired distribution rights for all French-speaking markets to William H. Macy‘s directorial debut, “Rudderless.”

Radiant Films has launched sales of  international territories at Cannes for the music drama, which has started shooting.

Macy is starring along with Felicity Huffman, Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Selena Gomez and Laurence Fishburne.

Keith Kjarval is producing through his Unified Pictures production-finance banner in association with Bron Studios. Brad Greiner is also producing through his Amberdale shingle. Bron’s Aaron L. Gilbert is exec producing.

“Rudderless” centers on a grieving father in a downward spiral who forms a band after stumbling across a box of his deceased son’s original music. Casey Twenter and Jeff Robison adapted the screenplay from the original story they wrote with Macy.

Radiant’s Mimi Steinbauer negotiated the deal with Mars’ Veronique Cuilhe.
