Visual Effects Society names board members

Lavery, Fink, Okun return to board; Chambers, Rizzardi new

A combination of new and familiar faces decorates the Visual Effects Society’s 2013 board of directors, which was announced Tuesday.

Returning are secretary Kim Lavery, first vice chair Michael Fink and board chair Jeffrey A. Okun, who was re-elected for his fifth one-year term.

Okun promised to continue looking for new and better ways to gain recognition for VES members.

Changes to the board include second vice chair Mike Chambers, who will be replacing Pam Hogarth, and treasurer Gene Rizzardi, who will check in for Bob Coleman. Hogarth and Coleman both timed off the board for a year.

Currently an indie effects producer and freelance f/x consultant, Chambers holds two VES Awards for best f/x on “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Inception” and is a member of the Producers Guild of America.

Rizzardi is an Emmy-winning model supervisor.
