Users of ‘Star Trek’ app gain ticket access

Paramount unveiled app last month at CES

Paramount unveiled its app for “Star Trek Into Darkness” last month at CES, and users who downloaded it were able to use it to unlock tickets for the movies release following the Super Bowl spot that premiered Sunday night.

Users were able to unlock tickets for showtimes on May 15, two days prior to the film’s original release, and were able to gain access to an extended version at the Super Bowl TV spot.

Paramount will continue to deliver exclusive content and offers from the app through its theatrical and homevideo release.

The app allows users delve into the “Star Trek” universe by using its cutting edge technology to allow users to collect points, see content and work their way through Star Fleet Academy.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch.
