After reviving the “Fast & Furious” franchise and turning it into one of Universal’s most profitable series, director Justin Lin may be in line to board another high profile franchise at the studio.

Lin will direct the untitled sequel to “The Bourne Legacy” starring Jeremy Renner.

Renner is expected to return as the title character with Anthony Peckham recently coming on to pen the script. Lin, Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith are producing.

Chairman Donna Langley, co-president of production Peter Cramer and vice president of production, Anikah McLaren will oversee the project for Universal.

The studio is still very high on this franchise, with “The Bourne Legacy” bringing in more than $275 million at the worldwide box office.

Lin is repped by CAA, Cinetic Management and Sloss Eckhouse LawCo. Deadline Hollywood broke the news.
