Sundance Selects is acquiring U.S. rights to Georg Maas’ “Two Lives,” Germany’s official selection for foreign language film at the 2013 Academy Awards.

The film stars Juliane Kohler, Liv Ullmann and Ken Duken and is produced by Zinnober Film, B&T Film and Helgeland Film.

“Two Lives” follows a woman who was a “war child” — meaning she was born as a result of a relationship between a Norwegian woman and a German occupation soldier during World War II — who is  asked to serve as a witness in a trial against the Norwegian state on behalf of children like her.

The deal for the film was negotiated with Beta Cinema’s Dirk Schuerhoff on behalf of the filmmakers.
