Company negotiating for domestic rights to Grace Kelly biopic

The Weinstein Co. is in talks for domestic rights to Grace Kelly biopic “Grace of Monaco.”

Project is directed by Olivier Dahan with Nicole Kidman in the title role and Tim Roth as Monaco’s Prince Rainier III.

CAA showed footage of the project at Berlin. Pierre-Ange Le Pogam is producing with financier Uday Chopra of YRF Entertainment and Arash Amel, who also scripted.

Story centers on Kelly being called upon to save Monaco from an escalating situation regarding its standing as a tax haven after Rainier was given six months to reform the nation’s tax laws by French leader Charles de Gaulle.

Parker Posey, Milo Ventimiglia, Frank Langella and Spanish thesp Paz Vega are co-starring.

TWC announced Friday it had acquired domestic distrib rights to the Nelson Mandela biopic “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” starring Idris Elba.
