Shooting set to start in Vancouver in October

Jason Sudeikis and Rose Byrne have come on board to topline Sean Mewshaw’s indie romantic comedy “Tumbledown.”

Producers are Kristin Hahn of Indigo Films and Aaron L. Gilbert and Margot Hand of Bron Studios. Production will start in October in Vancouver.

Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Blythe Danner, Michael McKean and Beau Bridges will also star. Mewshaw is directing from Desi Van Til’s script.

Byrne will play a young widow who falls for a brash New York writer (Sudeikis) who comes into her rural Maine town to investigate the death of her husband, a folk-music hero.

Mewshaw and Van Til are making their feature directing and screenwriting debuts. They collaborated on the short “Last Night,” which starred Frances McDormand and premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Van Til is writing the comedy “Married Off” for Warner Bros., based on an original pitch.

Sudeikis will be seen next in New Line comedy “We’re the Millers” opposite Jennifer Aniston. Byrne will be seen in “I Give It A Year” and “The Internship” and is currently filming “Townies” and “This Is Where I Leave You.”

CAA packaged the project and will be representing North American rights.

Oops. I just found out that I was dead wrong in my previous comment. Sorry about that. Apparently, the only thing that was shot by Sudeikis and Byrne several months ago was some kind of teaser for the movie. (I should try to get a job at CNN)

The movie finished shooting SEVERAL MONTHS AGO and you’re reporting about the casting as though the project is still in the pre-production stage. ???
