Toronto: Cory Monteith Starrer ‘McCanick’ Acquired by Well Go USA

Well Go USA has acquired U.S. rights to police drama “McCanick,” one of the final roles for the late Cory Monteith.

The deal closed Wednesday at the Toronto Film Festival, two days after the film’s premiere at the fest.

“McCanick” also stars David Morse and Ciaran Hinds with Josh C. Waller directing from Daniel Noah’s script.

Morse plays a hothead cop who discovers that Monteith’s character — who he helped put away seven years before — is back out on the streets.

The movie is produced by Ehud Bleiberg, Morse and Waller for Bleiberg Entertainment. Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films handled the U.S. rights.

Well Go is planning a theatrical release next year.
