‘Thief’ in the night

'Identity Thief' preems at Westwood's Regency Village Theater

While the whole gang wasn’t there, “Horrible Bosses” star Jason Bateman and director Seth Gordon looked happy to be back together at the preem of Universal’s “Identity Thief.”

Bateman and Gordon were joined at Westwood’s Regency Village Theater by castmates Melissa McCarthy, Eric Stonestreet, Genesis Rodriguez and Tip “T.I.” Harris, and followed them to the Napa Valley Grille for the after party, where producer Scott Stuber and his wife, model Molly Sims, were some of the last to leave.

Gordon explained that it was actually Bateman, who is also a producer and had been developing the film, who introduced the helmer to the film during the “Horrible Bosses” press tour.

Gordon went on to explain how improvising was an important part of the shoot, which will only make for more laughs once the DVD comes out.

“If you thought the film was funny, wait till you see the outtakes we have in store for you,” he said.
