Gulfstream buys 'The Feud'

The Conjuringwriters Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes have sold their action script “The Feud” to Gulfstream Pictures.

“The Conjuring,” starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, has overperformed with nearly $90 million in domestic grosses after 12 days in release. Variety first reported the Hayes brothers have been developing a sequel to “The Conjuring” along with joining “San Andreas 3D” project, both at New Line.

“The Feud” centers on two prominent Hong Kong families in a centuries-old conflict. Producers are keeping the rest of the logline under wraps.

Producers are Gulfstream partners Mike Karz and Bill Bindley and Circle of Confusion’s David Alpert, Ken Freimann and Rick Jacobs.

Gulfstream was set up last year and has produced the animated film “The Nut Job” and the romantic comedy “Blended” with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

The Deadline.com site first reported the sale of “The Feud.”
