Taylor Swift is the latest addition to the cast of Phil Noyce’s “The Giver.”

The Weinstein Company and Walden Media’s adaptation of Lois Lowry’s 1993 YA novel stars Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges. Streep will play Chief Elder, while Bridges will be the title character.

Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard, Odeya Rush and Cameron Monaghan round out the cast of the dystopian drama.

Swift will play Rosemary, the last teen mentored by The Giver before he meets Jonas.

The multi Grammy-winning singer has already gotten her feet wet in the film biz. She had a small role in 2010’s “Valentine’s Day” and provided the voice of Audrey for “The Lorax.”

The film, which is written by Michael Mitnick, will start filming in Cape Town on Oct. 7. It’s set to hit theaters on Aug. 15, 2014.

So many haters.. Taylor’s amazing! She’s an amazing actor and a very talented musician. She has directed almost all her videos and everyone of her concerts so before you go hating, get your facts straight..
