Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey will star in Summit Entertainment’s comedy “Ricky Stanicky” with Steve Oedekerk directing and writing.

Michael De Luca is producing with Smart Entertainment’s John Jacobs.

It’s a reunion for Carrey and Oedekerk, who collaborated on “In Living Color” and then teamed on “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls” in 1995.

Story, originally penned by Jeff Bushell, centers on three male friends who have used an invented friend, Ricky Stanicky, for the past two decades as an excuse to explain their way out of sticky situations. When their spouses demand to meet Stanicky, they hire an actor to portray him.

Carrey is currently in “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” and will be seen next in “Kick Ass 2.”

Oedekerk wrote and directed “Barnyard” and “Kung Pow: Enter the Fist.” Scripting credits include “Bruce Almighty,” “Evan Almighty,” “Patch Adams” and “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.”
