Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge

CGI-live action movie opens Feb. 7

Some of the “Star Wars” characters are materializing in Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Movie” in February — nearly two years before they return in the seventh “Star Wars” film.

The move is likely to be scrutinized by the fanbases of both properties. It’s not yet known which “Star Wars” characters — which are owned by Disney — will appear in plastic brick form in the “Lego” film.

The computer-animated adventure-comedy is due out Feb. 7. “Lego” is produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee and directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord with Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman.

The lead “Lego” characters are voiced by Chris Pratt and Will Ferrell.

Disney and Lucasfilm announced on Nov. 7 that “Star Wars: Episode VII” will open on Dec. 18, 2015. The J.J. Abrams-directed “Star Wars” will begin shooting in the spring at Pinewood Studios in the U.K.

Promotions for “The Lego Movie” have included Lego figures of Warner’s DC Comics characters such as Batman and Wonder Woman.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news.
